Gränna and Visingsö

The Countship Gränna-Visingsö extends to the shape of a duck between Brahehus, Visingsborg castle ruins and the Västanå castle. This was once Sweden's most powerful county and still carry the ambition of the Counts Brahe's .

If you turn of the E4 to Gränna, you are quickly met by old beautiful wood culture houses, cobblestone streets and Count Per Brahe in bronze on the square in the middle of the village. Below the square stretches Brahegatan from south to north with Polkagris and crisp bread production, mixed with shops, cafes and restaurants. The Port with frequent departures to Visingsö is full of activity in the summer.

Park your car in the port and take the ferry to Visingsö. Here you can easily rent a bike or just walk around the island in peace and quiet. Get power and energy from the green embrace of oak trees, refreshments along the way and rest on the beach. A goal on the southern headland is Näs, where you'll find tracks from the time of Arn. Along the way there are several restaurants and cafes. Remmalagen - horse-drawn carriage - one of the classic must, a guided tour of some of the island's attractions. In September all farmers on Visingsö invite to harvest festival.
